City of Casselberry Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Regular Meeting — May 8, 2018 on May 1111 at the Recreation Center. It is a great celebration to show appreciation for older Americans in the community and it will be an opportunity to share their stories with others. Rock N' Blues Car Show event is coming up on Memorial Weekend, May 261h headlining Morry Sochat. A new City Newsletter has been created and will continue to be distributed quarterly directly by email, or on the city website or you can pick up copies in the lobby of City Hall. Park updates: A structural engineer is evaluating Secret Lake Park racquetball court. The Casselberry Police Department is responsible for closing the restrooms at the parks at night. Recreation staff opens them in the mornings. Landscaping improvements at Lake Concord Park and Veterans Park replaced damaged plant material from the cold season. Lake Hodge Park's basketball and tennis courts have been resurfaced. New metal roofs will replace the old ones at the Wirz Park Building and bathhouse. Shade structures damaged by last year's hurricane will soon be replaced with new ones purchased with FEMA reimbursement funding. Dew Drop Park's large pavilion and restroom building roofs will be replaced with metal roofing. Friends of the Park purchased and the City installed two new dog stations at Lake Concord Park and Promenade area. They will also purchase the doggie bags for each of the stations. As requested by many residents, one new dog station was installed at the Crystal Bowl Butterfly Park next to the trail. 7. Board Member Reports: Member Icenhower reported that EarthFest was a very enjoyable success. She attended the event and many people discussed with her how great of an event it was and that mentioned that there were many activities for the kids and lots of vendors with free activities. 8.
