ORDINANCE 18-1479 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, TO <br />AMEND THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY <br />PROVIDING FOR A CHANGE OF THE FUTURE LAND USE <br />DESIGNATION FROM SEMINOLE COUNTY MEDIUM DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL TO CITY OF CASSELBERRY MEDIUM DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL (MDR) FOR THE NEWLY ANNEXED PARCELS <br />DESCRIBED IN SECTION I OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND CHANGING <br />THE FUTURE LAND USE DESIGNATION OF ONE PARCEL FROM <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL, ALL PARCELS <br />GENERALLY LOCATED ALONG RED BUG LAKE ROAD; PROVIDING <br />FOR TRANSMITTAL OF THE PLAN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY; PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the properties described in Section I were recently annexed into the City of <br />Casselberry corporate boundaries by Ordinance 18-1478, except for one property with a current <br />Future Land Use designation of City of Casselberry Low Density Residential; and <br />WHEREAS, the majority of the properties described in Section I have a Seminole <br />County Future Land Use designation of Medium Density Residential; and <br />WHEREAS, the annexed properties described in Section I need a City of Casselberry <br />Future Land Use designation; and <br />WHEREAS, such properties should be consistent with land uses of neighboring parcels <br />to allow for the most appropriate future development of the site; and <br />WHEREAS, properties provided in Section I of this ordinance are greater than 10 acres, <br />requiring a large-scale amendment to the Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, establishes a process for adoption of <br />comprehensive plans or plan amendments; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission / Local Planning Agency has held a <br />public hearing with due public notice to consider this FLUM amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, a Public Hearing on the question of amending the City of Casselberry <br />Future Land Use Map designations of the properties hereinafter described, has been duly held by <br />the City Commission of the City of Casselberry, Florida, and at such hearing, interested parties <br />and citizens for and against the proposed establishment of the City of Casselberry Future Land <br />Use Map designation were heard; and <br />WHEREAS, after said Public Hearing, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry, <br />Florida, considered the Comprehensive Plan Amendment and has determined that the Future <br />Land Use designation of said properties provided in Section 1, herein, shall be established as <br />Medium Density Residential, as that designation is defined in Future Land Use Element <br />
