CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of July 24, 2017 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 9 of 21 <br />Mr. Mark Collantes, Orange County resident, also spoke in favor of a skate park in the City of <br />Casselberry, noting that he had worked with the youth in Casselberly's summer program last <br />year and felt it was important for them to have somewhere to go. He also noted that while he <br />was attending school in Lakeland he had also observed the positive effect a skate park had on <br />the youth of that city. <br />Ms. Laura Worrell, 182 Southcot Drive, expressed concerns about the cost estimates shown <br />for the ofthe projects listed in the proposed budget and suggested the City should re-evaluate <br />some of the contractor choices and try to hire locally in order to help stimulate the City's <br />economy. <br />No one else came forward to address Resolution 17-2970. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Aramendia moved to approve Resolution 17-2970, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. <br />Discussion: A brief discussion ensued including the next steps to be taken if the resolution was approved; <br />feasibility of a joint workshop with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; how to initiate some of the <br />elements contained in the Plan; funding options for some of the projects suggested in the Plan; and the need for <br />guidance fi•om the Commission on the direction they wished to pursue with regard to parks. The Commission <br />expressed appreciation for the consultants and staff who had developed the Plan, and to the citizens who had <br />taken an interest and presented their suggestions and concerns to the Commission. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />[Elm 01133 d %0,1 WIN <br />A. Ordinance 17-1465 — Official Zoning Map Amendment for Properties Located at <br />2905 Lakeview Drive and 6150 South US Highway 17-92 VB 17-021 <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 17-1465 by title as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AS ESTABLISHED IN ARTICLE IV, SECTION 2-4.3, <br />UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED; AMENDING THE ZONING <br />CLASSIFICATION FROM CG (COMMERCIAL GENERAL) TO PMX-MID (PLANNED MIXED- <br />USE: MEDIUM RISE) FOR THE PARCELS LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF U.S. HIGHWAY 17- <br />92 AND STATE ROAD 436 AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION I OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING <br />FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />
