Council of Local Governments in Seminole County (CALNO) Report Vice Mayor Aramendia advised he had an emergency and was unable to attend the meeting on Wednesday, June 7, 2017; however, the group had taken a tour of the Sanford Welcome Center and it was his understanding that no major issues had been discussed at the meeting. F. Seminole County Redevelopment Planning Agency Report Commissioner Solomon advised that she had no report; however, the group would be meeting on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 after the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners meeting to address the issue of how the remaining CRA funds should be utilized. No items were presented for consideration on this agenda. A. Ordinance 17-1461 — RevisingSalW Definition for the Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension Plan The City Clerk read Ordinance 17-1461 by title as follows: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 62, PENSIONS AND RETIREMENT, ARTICLE I, SECTION 62-2001, DEFINITIONS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." Staff Presentation: Finance Director Rebecca Bowman gave a brief overview of Ordinance 17-1461 explaining that the purpose of the ordinance was to amend the definition of salary for the Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension Plan to exclude wages earned for off-duty pay, in order to be consistent with Florida Statutes which states that such off-duty pay is not considered to be pensionable wages. Budget Impact: There is no budget impact to changing the definition of salary. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Finance Director recommended approval of Ordinance 17- 1461 on first reading.
