Ordinance 17-1471— Official Zoning Map Amendment for Property Located at 380 <br />West Melody Lane (ZB 17-03) <br />The Acting City Clerk read Ordinance 17-1471 by title as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AS ESTABLISHED IN ARTICLE IV, SECTION 2-4.3, <br />UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED; AMENDING THE ZONING <br />CLASSIFICATION FROM "I" (INDUSTRIAL) TO "OR" (OFFICE/RESIDENTIAL) FOR THE <br />PARCEL LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF ANCHOR ROAD AND WEST MELODY LANE AS <br />DESCRIBED IN SECTION I OF THIS ORDINANCE, PARCEL ID 08-21-30-5BL-EF00-0060; <br />PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFF, E CTIVE DATE." <br />Staff Presentation: Planner Dean Fathelbab gave a brief overview of Ordinance 17-1471 explaining that the <br />purpose of the ordinance was to amend the official zoning map for the property located at 3 80 West Melody <br />Lane from City of Casselberry Industrial (I) to City of Casselberry Office/Residential (OR). He advised that <br />the property owner and applicant the German American Society of Central Florida owned two properties to the <br />south and the proposed zoning would provide consistency across the parcels. Findings provided in the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission staff report concluded that the proposed official zoning map amendment <br />was consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan, was compatible with the surrounding mix of zoning and <br />land uses, and that City services were available and would not be negatively impacted by the amendment. If <br />first reading is approved by the City Commission on September 25, 2017, a public hearing and second reading <br />will be scheduled for October 30, 2017. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended approval of <br />Ordinance 17-1471 on first reading. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address Ordinance 17-1471. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Aramendia moved to approve Ordinance 17-1471 on first reading, <br />as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />A.
