City of Casselberry <br />Parks & Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting— February 14, 2017 <br />Chairman Van Meter moved to make a formal recommendation to the City <br />Commission that an application be submitted for the Seminole County Boating <br />Improvement Grant for improvements to the Casselberry Blueway Trail Boat Launch <br />located at Secret Lake Park. Motion was seconded by Member Nordstrom. Motion <br />carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />7. Staff Report <br />Ms. Moore reported that Little League Opening Day will be Saturday, February <br />25, 2017 at Wirz Park. She advised that Ms. Duncan would forward information <br />to the Board members. <br />8. Board Member Reports <br />Member Nordstrom reported that the Air Potato Raid in January was very <br />successful with 500 lbs. of air potatoes collected. <br />Chairman Van Meter discussed the possibility of having a wider variety of <br />entertainment at events. Ms. Moore advised there would be rock n' roll, blues, <br />folk and more in the upcoming year. <br />Member Nordstrom advised she was looking for volunteers for 2017 Earth Fest. <br />She reported that Friends of the Park was setting up a table at all the City's <br />events in hopes of generating volunteers and providing more information to the <br />community. She also advised that Friends of the Park now has a new logo. <br />9. Audience Particinatio <br />No one came forward. <br />10. Adiournment <br />Member Valentine moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 p.m. Motion was seconded by <br />Member Icenhower.
