City of Casselberry <br />Parks & Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting — February 14, 2017 <br />Member Nordstrom moved to appoint Member Holmes to fill the Vice Chairman <br />position. Motion was seconded by Member Icenhower. Motion carried unanimously <br />by voice vote 4-0. <br />6. Items for Discussion: <br />a. Parks Ordinance <br />A new version of the ordinance previously reviewed by the Board was updated <br />and presented to the Board with recommendations added. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward. <br />Vice Chairman Holmes moved to forward the revised proposed Parks Ordinance to the <br />City Commission for approval. Motion was seconded by Member Nordstrom. Motion <br />carried unanimously by voice vote 4-0. <br />b. Parks Master Plan Update <br />No update at this time. The consultants are still working on the Plan and <br />collecting data. Upon completion the draft Master Plan will be presented to the <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for review. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward. <br />c. Upcoming Parks & Recreation Events <br />Spring Jazz & Art Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Lake <br />Concord Park and will feature jazz entertainers Brian Simpson and Steve Cole <br />Garden Party fundraiser for Friends of the Park is scheduled for Saturday, March <br />18, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. <br />Art and Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar is scheduled for Friday, March <br />10, 2017 in Lake Concord Park. The event will have a Celtic theme. <br />It was noted that the first event held back at Lake Concord Park after the temporary relocation <br />to Secret Lake Park due to construction had been held on Friday, February 10, 2017 and went <br />very well. Attendees appeared to be pleased to be back at Lake Concord Park, although there <br />were some complaints about parking. The Police Department assisted with parking, and <br />overflow parking was at Target and Home Depot, <br />Member Nancy Valentine arrived to the meeting at 7:13 p.m. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward. <br />3 <br />
