Conservation Commission. They issue permits for each lake and we have <br />to maintain the lakes that desire to remove vegetation beyond the <br />exemption of what state allows. The City only owns the shoreline on Lake <br />Hodge, but we have to have a permit for that lake although we do not <br />manage to entire lake. The Triplet chain of lakes have permitting for the <br />entire chain. We manage hydrilla, floating exotic plants, exotic primrose <br />or navigational purposes vegetation blocking boating access in different <br />areas. We recently submitted our renewal permits for a three years term. <br />About half of them have been returned. This secures our ability to <br />manage the lakes. The hydrilla levels are relatively low. We completed the <br />perimeter treatment around Lake Concord, Secret Lake and portions of <br />North Triplet Lake. This was successful. Grassy Lake is showing some <br />regrowth after the experimental treatment offered by SeaPro. <br />Shoreline related: We have inherited the retention ponds at the golf <br />course. South Triplet and Southcot is where the ponds are located and we <br />restored. Shortly after we had large rainfall which could possible over <br />water the new vegetation. <br />B. Educational Outreach: Summer camp presentations (4) done completed <br />by Ms. Williams. For a total of over (500) children. Partnered with Florida <br />Yards and Neighbors that gave a presentation on the Water Cycle and Bee <br />Keeping. Lake Howell and Jessup Restoration presentation, coordinated <br />through Seminole County on Lake Howell. Eel grass restoration was part <br />of the presentation. Free plants were given to be used in a test site, used <br />to exclude grass carp, turtles or anything predatory organism that might <br />eat the vegetation. This will be done on Lake Concord. Upcoming Events: <br />October 22, 2016 — Partnering with Frankie's Friends regarding health of <br />pets and improvement of pet population, pets adoption. She would like to <br />launch a program "Poo Lootion" Campaign, doggy bag handouts to <br />encourage pet owners to pick up after their pets. Pet waste is a part of <br />Stormwater pollution also. Also in October (no date yet), for who are on <br />the Quintuplet chain of lakes, an educational workshop about their lake <br />and what species is in their lake, how it is connected hydrologically to the <br />other lakes in the City, the rules and regulations and what they can do to <br />improve their lake. During the fall would like to have a restoration event <br />Lake Katherine Circle Conservation area, lot of garbage in the area, FWC <br />maintains through our grant program, to get control of vegetarian. <br />C. Vac Truck Educational Wrap: A wrap to be on the street sweeper. She <br />presented a sample copy of it. The City has a brand new street sweeper. <br />Email her your suggested slogan or concept of how the vehicle should <br />look. This should be submitted by August 31, 2016. <br />D. Stormwater Master Plan: This process will take about a year to <br />complete. It various levels of approval and work to be completed.
