CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April 24, 2017 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 13 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Finance Director recommended approval of Budget <br />Amendment #17-033. <br />I. Excuse Absence of Commissioner Sandra Solomon <br />Introduction: Commissioner Solomon called this morning and advised that she was unable to attend today's <br />Commission meeting due to illness. She respectfully requested her Excuse of Absence be placed on the <br />Consent Agenda for consideration. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Meadows moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hufford. Motion carried unanimously <br />by voice vote 4-0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />Commissioner Hufford suggested that he would like staff to provide an update in the near future on code <br />enforcement and what steps are now being made to move forward on code issues, in addition to having a <br />discussion on how the Commission can support the code enforcement staff in their efforts. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report <br />No report. <br />C. Leadership Seminole Board Report <br />Mayor Glancy reported she had attended the meeting on Friday, April 21, 2017 and shared that Leadership <br />Seminole is in a strong position both financially and with the classes. She advised that the Community <br />Leadership Celebration Luncheon would be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. —1:30 p.m. atthe <br />Westin Lake Mary. She stated that this luncheon would be to celebrate the graduating class, to announce the <br />annual Leadership Legends Award and to present the year's winning High School Character Key video. She <br />announced that the recipient of the Leadership Legends Award this year would be Representative John Mica <br />and although it was not a regularly budgeted item, suggested the Commission may wish to purchase a table at <br />the event in order to have attendees in support of Representative Mica who has done so much for Casselberry <br />and the surrounding communities. The Commission agreed by consensus that the Commission should <br />purchase a table at the event for $600, and directed Mr. Newlon to provide the necessary funding from an <br />appropriate budget line. Mr. Newlon noted that this would be the exception and not the rule, as the City was <br />
