activity such as but not limited to, transit stops, street crossings, <br />building and store entry points, and shall feature adioinin <br />landscaped areas that include trees, shrubs, benches, flower beds. <br />ground covers. or other such materials for no less than 50 percent of <br />their length. <br />c. Sidewalks no less than 5 feet in width shall be provided along the <br />full length of the building along any facade featuring a customer <br />entrance, and along any facade abutting public parking areas. Such <br />sidewalks shall be located at least six feet from the facade of the <br />building to provide planting beds for foundation landscaping, except <br />where features such as arcades or entryways are a part of the facade. <br />d. All internal pedestrian walkways shall be distinguished from driving <br />surfaces through the use of durable, low maintenance surface <br />materials such as pavers bricks or scored concrete to enhance <br />pedestrian safety and comfort, as well as the attractiveness of the <br />walkways. Signs shall be installed to designate pedestrian walkways. <br />iv. Central Features and Community Spaces. <br />a. Each commercial establishment shall contribute to the establishment <br />or enhancement of community and public spaces by providing at <br />least two of the following: patio/seating area, pedestrian plaza with <br />benches, transportation cover/seating window shopping walkways <br />outdoor play area, water feature, clock tower, or artwork visible from <br />public or private rights-of-way or pedestrian access. If the site is <br />limited in space so that it is impractical to provide two features, one <br />feature must be provided. <br />SECTION 2: Section 3-10.2 Appearance of site and structures, of Part III —Unified Land <br />Development Regulations, Chapter III — Performance Criteria, Article X: Appearance, Design and <br />Compatibility, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 3-10.2. — Appearance of site and structures. <br />Within all zoning districts within the City of Casselberry, the appearance of site and <br />structures shall be coordinated for the purpose of creating a pleasing and harmonious overall <br />environment within this section and Section 2-7.35. <br />*** (rest omitted) <br />SECTION 3: CODIFICATION. It is the intention of the City Commission of the City <br />of Casselberry, Florida, and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this Ordinance shall <br />become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinance of the City of Casselberry, Florida; that the <br />Sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or re -lettered to accomplish such intention; that the <br />word, "Ordinance" may be changed to "Section," "Article," or other appropriate word. <br />SECTION 4: CONFLICTS. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with any <br />of the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict. <br />Ordinance 17-1460 <br />
