CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of August 22, 2016 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 15 of 17 <br />City Commission Workshop September 7, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Police <br />Department Multi -Purpose Room for a discussion of FDOT's (Florida Department of <br />Transportation's) concept plan for improvements on State Road 436 between Oxford <br />Road and Wilshire Boulevard; <br />Special Commission Meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2016 for the purpose of <br />certifying election results; swearing in of Mayor Glancy and incoming Commissioner <br />Bill Hufford; and honoring departing Commissioner Colleen Hufford for her service. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />No report. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />Reminded everyone of the City Election on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, advising that there <br />were six (6) proposed Charter Amendments on the ballot. She stated that there would be one <br />final Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the City <br />Commission Chambers at City Hall for those wishing to learn more about the proposed <br />amendments. <br />Advised that Early Voting began on Saturday, August 20, 2016 and would run through <br />Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. She added that anyone could <br />vote at any one of the early voting locations, and the one most convenient to city residents <br />would be the Casselberry Central Branch Library located at 215 Oxford Road; however, <br />citizens could also vote at any of the other Seminole. County library locations, the Supervisor <br />of Elections Office, the old Longwood Elementary building, or the Oviedo Aquatic Center. <br />She also advised that all precincts would be open from 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on <br />Election Day, August 30, 2016. She stated that anyone having questions could contact the <br />City Clerk's Office and she would be glad to assist with anything election -related. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />Congratulated Jack Okell on his retirement and expressed his thanks for Mr. Okell's 26 years <br />of service. <br />Reported that the 7th annual RunYak event on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Secret Lake Park <br />had been a successful event and very well attended. He added that there 75 slots which had <br />been filled with participants and it was anticipated that number would be expanded to 100 for <br />next year. <br />Advised he had attended the opening reception on August 13, 2016 for The Central Florida <br />Artist's Way Group Celebration of Creativity at the Casselberry Art House, featuring an <br />exhibit called "Umbrellas". He stated that the group is facilitated by artist Cheryl Evans <br />
