Ordinance 16-1452 — Official Zoning Map Amendment for Property Located at South <br />US Highway 1y 7=92 (ZB 16-02) <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 16-1452 by title as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AS ESTABLISHED IN ARTICLE IV, SECTION 2-4.3, <br />UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED; ESTABLISIUNG THE ZONING <br />CLASSIFICATION OF PMX-MID (PLANNED MIXED-USE: MEDIUM RISE) FOR THE PARCEL <br />ID 08-21-30-536-0000-0020 AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION I OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING <br />FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Staff Presentation: Interim Community Development Director Randy Woodruff gave a brief overview of <br />Ordinance 16-1452, stating the ordinance proposed amending the Official Zoning Map Designation for <br />property located at the southwest corner of U.S. Highway 17-92 and Plumosa Avenue from Commercial <br />General (CG) to PMX-MID (Planned Mixed -Use: Medium Rise). The proposed amendment is compatible <br />with the Major Thoroughfare Mixed Use (MTMU) Future Land Use Designation; consistent with the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan; and compatible with the surrounding mix of zoning and land uses. <br />City Attorney Katie Reischmann clarified that the current zoning designation for this property was not <br />consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and the change was necessary for the zoning to be consistent, as <br />required by law. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Acting Community Development Director recommended <br />approval of Ordinance 16-1452 on first reading. <br />Audience Participation: The following individual came forward to address Ordinance 16-1452: <br />1. Ms. Brenda Monger, 15 Plumosa Avenue, spoke in opposition to Ordinance 16-1452, <br />requesting that the Commission consider the petitions received from residents in the <br />surrounding neighborhoods objecting to the zoning change. <br />No one else came forward. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to approve Ordinance 16-1452 on first reading, <br />as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Meadows. Motion <br />carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />
