CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of July 25, 2016 — Regular Meeting Page 7 of 17 Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to submit a grant application through the U.S. Department of Justice for Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant funds for the amount of $11,470. I. Appointment of Interim Community Development Director Introduction: Consideration to appoint Randy Woodruff as the Interim Community Development Director due to the retirement of Director Sandra Smith is requested. Budget Impact: While in place, the Interim Community Development Director will be paid less than the Department Director which will result in budgetary savings. Recommendation: The City Manager recommended the appointment of Randy Woodruff as Interim Community Development Director. Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. A. Resolution 16-2883 — Reco ng izing the Retirement of Sandra J Smith "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, IN RECOGNITION OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA BY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR SANDRA J. SMITH." Mayor Glancy read Resolution 16-2883 in its entirety, after which she presented the framed original Resolution to Sandra J. Smith, formally recognizing and expressing appreciation for her more than 21 years of public service in the Community Development Department, and congratulating her on her retirement fiom the City of Casselberry. Ms. Smith expressed thanks to the City of Casselberty for all the opportunities she had been afforded over the years. Audience Participation: No one came forward to address Resolution 16-2883.
