CASSELBLRRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of June 27, 2016 — Regular Meeting Page 15 of 16 Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: Stated that Friends of the Park would be very happy to partner with Keep Seminole Beautiful to utilize the red light camera litigation funds towards additional positive projects in the City. Requested that Ms. Reischmann check with some of the South Florida cities such as Coral Gables and Boca Raton regarding how they are handling the body art establishment issue. Ms. Reischmann advised she would do that and bring back a report to the Commission. Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2 Commended Chief Krantz for the promotion ceremony held earlier in the day to recognize Commander Nas and Commander Schaefer for their promotion in rank to the two newly created Commander positions. Commissioner Sandra Solomon - Seat No. 3: Reported she had attended the Veterans of Casselberry Club event on Saturday, June 25, 2016 honoring Casselberry Police Officer Megan Colburn as Officer of the Year for her efforts in being proactive in keeping the City's nighttime roadways safe from drivers under the influence. She added that it was a very nice event and she was very proud of the Casselberry Police Department and Officer Colburn. Vice Mayor Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4: Congratulated Commander Mike Schaefer and Commander Bill Nas on their recent promotions. Advised she and her husband would not be attending the Annual League of Cities Conference after all so she would not be able to act as the City's voting delegate. Expressed some concerns about what she considered to be the proliferation of smoke shops in the City, and requested that staff perform a study to see how many are in the City and how they affect neighboring businesses, and research to see what type of regulations may be needed. Mr. Newlon advised he would have staff research the issue. Mayor Glancy — Seat No. 5: Thanked Chief Krantz for the nice promotion ceremony he provided for the new Commanders, and also thanked him for all he and his department do for the City. Commended Finance Director Rebecca Bowman and her staff for their preparation of the Popular Annual Finance Report (PAFR).
