CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of January 12, 2015 — Regular Meeting
Page 11 of 19
Casselbeny based on the most recent population of 27,527 would amount to $2,202. She noted that the
members had voted to approve this method for calculating each member agency's assessment, and although it
was not unanimous, it passed with a strong majority. She added that each city would also have to approve the
funding agreement and an interlocal agreement. She explained that MAC would then have to submit its
proposed funding mechanism and proposed amended bylaws for MetroPlan approval, and she was optimistic
that by March, 2015 a MAC representative would be attending the MetroPlan meeting as a voting member.
She added that the representative would be whoever was serving as the MAC Chair at the time, and that the
Chair was chosen on a rotating basis so each member would have an opportunity to serve.
C. She advised that Chairman Britton planned to have an attorney who had
worked with similar groups speak at the next meeting, and asked for input from the Commission as to their
perception of whether CALNO was of value to the participating agencies.
Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding each ofthe Commissioners' experience with CALNO and whether it
was felt to be useful. It was agreed by the Commission as whole that the informal format of the meetings leant
itself to good discussions between the governments represented, and it was a valuable forum for keeping
informed about things going on around the County. It was noted that several good ideas and processes had
come about in the various communities from information gathered through CALNO meetings.
