CASSRLRERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of January 26, 2015 — Regular Meeting Page 19 01`20 Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2: Commended Public Works Director Mark Gisclar for personally placing door hangers to notify residents about the upcoming construction project on South Lake Triplet Drive. Reported he had received compliments on the new surface on the basketball court at Secret Lake Park, but noted that he had noticed there was an area of dirt at the entrance which he felt would be tracked on the court and shorten the lifespan of the surface. He asked that staff look into a solution. Stated he was looking forward to getting a date set fora goal- setting workshop, and felt the board and volunteer issues could be also be discussed at that time. Commissioner Colleen Hufford --- Seat No. 4: Added to Commissioner Meadows' comments regarding the goal - setting workshop, emphasizing she thought it was very important to meet in this type of setting to discuss ongoing projects and future plans for the City. Reported she attended the ribbon cutting at the new Baer's Furniture Store in Casselberly on Saturday, January 24, 2015 and enjoyed meeting members of the Baer family. She added that she had received very positive comments about City staff and wanted to pass that along. Expressed some concerns that had been shared by Mr. Casselberry regarding the corner at Oxford Road and State Road 436 and the difficulties that the Lynx buses are having making the turn. Mr. Newlon advised that Seminole County had future plans to make improvements at that location but it would probably be a couple of years before that happened. Vice Mayor Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: • Advised she had also attended the ribbon - cutting at the Baer's Furniture Store on Saturday, January 24, 2015, and it was a very beautiful store. • Shared some compliments she had recently received about City staff • Thanked Fire Department staff who had attended an Honorary Fire Chief induction ceremony at the Chabad Center on Lake Howell Road on Sunday, January 25, 2015. • Stated she was continuing to speak with various local government officials about getting the bike trail system in Seminole County connected, and she was hopeful that would someday happen. Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5: ® Reported she had also attended the ribbon - cutting event at the Baer's Furniture Store on Saturday, January 24, 2015 and had gotten positive comments about City staff as well. ® Stated she is also looking forward to scheduling of the goal - setting workshop. ® Advised she had recently attended the ribbon - cutting ceremony for the Sanford River Walk Phase H and it was a wonderful event.
