As work is awarded to Ardaman &
Associates through supplements to this contract, subsequent budgetary impact will be brought to City
Commission for approval.
Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval to piggyback
the City of Oviedo's Professional Services Agreement for Geotechnical Services with Ardaman & Associates,
Inc.
Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda.
MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hufford. Motion carried unanimously
by voice vote 5 -0.
8. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Future Agenda Items
Commissioner Hufford stated she had spoken with Mayor of Lacey of Winter Springs regarding waste
management services of the School Board and he had expressed some concerns about the different cities'
franchise ordinances and whether the cities may be violating their own. ordinances by allowing the School
Board to have its own franchise. Mr. Newlon clarified that the City of Winter Springs had an exclusive
franchise arrangement with WastePro, while the City of Casselberry has a non - exclusive franchise ordinance
which allows basically anyone who wants to provide solid waste container rental and disposal to do business in
the City as long as they are in compliance with the City's ordinance. He advised that he has directed both staff
and the City attorney to research the issue, however, to make sure that the City is in compliance with both state
and city regulations, and if necessary the matter would be brought to the Commission for consideration at a
later time.
B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report
No report.
