B. Florida Lake Management Society Love Your Lake Grant Application Introduction: This item provides for consideration to submit a Florida Lake Management Society Love Your Lake Grant Application in the amount of $1,325 with a proposed match of $2,400 to provide assistance for the revegetation of the northern shoreline of Dew Drop Pond. Budget Impact: Should the City receive an award, a future Budget Amendment will be prepared to recognize revenue and allocate grant funding. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval to submit the FLMS (Florida Lake Management Society) Love Your Lake Grant Application for the amount of $1,325. C. Acceptance of Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant and Related Budget Amendment #15 -023 Introduction: Acceptance of Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant proceeds in the amount of $16,430 and related Budget Amendment #15 -023 will facilitate the purchase of operating supplies, training and minor equipment to support Police Department's Community Relations initiative projects. Budget Impact: Approval of budget Amendment #15-023 will increase the General Fund Justice Assistance Grant account #001- 0000 - 331.22 -07 in the amount of $16,430 and Police Department Operating Supplies account #001 - 0610 - 521.52 -01 in the amount of $5,540, Training account #001- 0610 - 521.55 -01 in the amount of $5,895 and Small Tools/Minor Equipment account 9001 - 0610 - 521.56 -01 in the amount of $4,995. The additional $300 will be funded from Operating account #001- 0610 - 521.52 -00. BA #15 -023 Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to allocate $16,430 in grant proceeds awarded by the Office of Criminal Justice Grants for the FY 15 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (2015 -JAGC- SEMI -2 -R3 -222). On August 25, 2014, the Commission approved application for this grant. This budget amendment seeks approval to appropriate grant funding for the projects outlined in the Community Relations Initiative for purchase of operational supplies, minor equipment, and training - related expenses for implementation of the G.R.E.A.T. program, the S.A.F.E. program, and safety materials in continued support of the Elderly Services program.
