CITY OF CASSELBERRY <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN POTABLE WATER ELEMENT <br />The North Water Treatment Plant is located at the end of Bridle Path near <br />Wyndham Woods, a residential subdivision, within the City of Casselberry. The plant <br />has three wells, two 500,000 gallon ground storage tanks, and three high service <br />pumps. The maximum daily flow capacity of the plant is 4,167 gallons per minute <br />with a peak flow capacity of 4,000 gallons per minute assuming the largest high <br />service pump is out of service. The historical average daily flow at the North Plant is <br />2.07 million gallons per day. <br />The Howell Park Treatment Plant is located on State Road 436 and is surrounded by <br />development on all sides. The plant has three wells, one 250,000 gallon and one <br />500,000 gallon (total 750,000 gallons) ground storage tank, and three high service <br />pumps. The historical average daily flow at Howell Plant is 2.21 million gallons per <br />day. <br />The South Water Treatment Plant is located just off of State Road 436. This facility <br />has three wells, one 500,000 gallon and one 750,000 gallon ground storage tank, and <br />three high service pumps. The total well capacity is 6,000 gallons per minute. The <br />South WIP contains the largest well in the system, which has a capacity of 2,400 <br />gallons per minute. <br />The high service pumping capacity is 6,000 gallons per minute (8.6 mgd). If system <br />pressures supersede a certain level, only two pumps can be operated at one time <br />without overflowing the elevated storage tank located on the site. The elevated <br />storage tank can be isolated to allow the plant to operate at a higher discharge <br />pressure. Storage treatment limits the use of the available well capacity to 5,208 <br />gallons per minute or 7.49 million gallons per day. <br />A summary of the potable water wells with the capacity for each is provided in <br />Table VII -1. A summary of the potable water treatment plants is provided in Table <br />VII -2. The locations of the three water treatment plants and all wells are shown on <br />Map VII -1. <br />The potable water treatment facilities are generally in good condition and will not be <br />replaced within the planning period. Several upgrades and routine maintenance will <br />occur during the planning period according to the five year and long term capital <br />improvements schedule as presented in the water supply facilities work plan. <br />d. Potable Water Storage Facilities <br />A summary of the City's potable water system storage is given in Table VII -4. The <br />current total water storage capacity is approximately 3.85 million gallons. <br />The South Water Tower is located at South Plant and has a capacity of 250,000 <br />gallons. Melody Lane Water Tower is located adjacent to State Road 17 -92 and has a <br />capacity of 250,000 gallons. Hunterfield Water Tower is located in the southwestern <br />portion of the City's water service area and has a capacity of 100,000 gallons. <br />The Consumptive Use Permit (CUP) was amended in 2004 to accommodate the <br />addition of wells and a treatment plant in the Hunterfield location.
