WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the <br />original text and strike through shall constitute deletions to the original text. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 46 -1, Definitions, of Chapter 46, Article I shall be <br />amended as follows: <br />46 -1. DEFINITIONS. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this <br />Chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this Section, except where the <br />context clearly indicates a different meaning. Unless specifically defined in this Section, <br />words or phrases used in this Chapter shall be interpreted so as to give them the <br />meaning they have in common usage and to give this Chapter its most reasonable <br />application. The definitions in this Section shall apply only to this Chapter. <br />Addition to an existing building means any walled and roofed expansion to the <br />perimeter of a building in which the addition is connected by a common loadbearing <br />wall other than a firewall. Any walled and roofed addition which is connected by a <br />firewall or is separated by independent perimeter loadbearing walls is new <br />construction. <br />Appeal means a request for a review of the City Engineer's interpretation of any <br />provision of this Chapter, or a request for a variance from the requirements of this <br />Chapter. <br />Area of shallow flooding means a designated AO or V-9 AH zone on a community's <br />Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), with base flood depths from one to three feet, <br />where a clearly defined channel does not exist, where the path of flooding is <br />unpredictable and indeterminate, and where velocity flow may be evident. Such <br />flooding is characterized by ponding or sheet flow. <br />Area of special flood hazard means the land in the floodplain within a community <br />subject to a one percent or greater chance of flooding in any given year. <br />Base flood means the flood having a one percent chance of being equaled or <br />exceeded in any given year. <br />Base flood elevation means the water - surface elevation associated with the base <br />flood. <br />Basement means that portion of a building having its floor subgrade (below ground <br />level) on all sides. <br />N <br />
