Fences and Walls: <br />(1) General Requirements <br />(i) Walls and fences are not permitted across the front of properties except for decorative <br />screening walls, 4' in height or less, and signage wall as provided in the signage criteria. <br />(ii) Fences and walls located behind the front building line, shall be no greater than 6 feet in <br />height, and shall be located no closer than 1/2 way between the front and rear building lines. <br />(iii) Chain link fences are prohibited, except for schools, playgrounds and parks when approved <br />during the site plan review process. <br />(iv) Fences, walls, or hedges shall be a minimum 25% opaque. <br />(2) Permitted materials: Materials and colors shall be appropriate and compatible with the materials <br />and colors of the main building on the site. <br />• Wood (termite resistant): stained, sealed, or painted <br />• Concrete Masonry Units with stucco (match color and texture of building walls) <br />• Reinforced concrete with stucco (match color and texture of building walls) <br />• Wrought iron, aluminum (vertical, 1/2" min. dimension, 4" to 6" spacing) <br />• Brick <br />• Vinyl: single - family detached residential only. <br />(3) School Fencing: <br />• Decorative screen walls and /or fences, a maximum 6' - 0" height, shall be re quired across <br />the ront of the property. <br />Page 4 of 9 <br />Ordinance 07 -1228 <br />
