CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 25, 2016 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 16 <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. Motion carried unanimously <br />by voice vote 5 -0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />Vice Mayor Hufford expressed some concerns about the influx of restaurants with drive- throughs to the area as <br />opposed to sit -down restaurants and inquired whether the issued could be addressed by staff. After a brief <br />discussion, the Commission as a whole agreed to direct staff to do some analysis and research regarding the <br />issue and the possible consequences or ramifications of imposing some sort of restrictions to this type of use <br />within the City. Mr. Newlon advised that staff would work with the City Attorney on the issue and would <br />bring back their findings and possible options for consideration at a future meeting. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report <br />No report. <br />C. Leadership Seminole Board Report <br />Mayor Glancy reported that she had recently attended the annual joint meeting between the Leadership <br />Seminole Board and the Leadership Seminole Executive Council where Mr. Philip Mangano, Executive <br />Director of the U.S. Interagency Council for the Homeless had given a very inspiring presentation on the <br />nationwide efforts to reduce homelessness. She shared some of the statistics which had been provided, and <br />advised that the local Task Force would be presenting their recommendations to Leadership Seminole and then <br />to Seminole County by approximately March of 2016. Commissioner Aramendia shared that the class project <br />for Class 25, of which he and Lynn Hoppes of the Public Works Department — Parks and Recreation, were <br />members, was to enhance and refurbish a local foster home for girls ages 14 -17. <br />D. Mayors /Managers Group Report <br />Mayor Glancy reported she had attended a meeting on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, and a representative of the <br />Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) had given a presentation on urban bear <br />management in light of the recent sightings and incidents involving bears throughout the state. She shared <br />some of the statistics and information presented at the meeting. <br />
