RESOLUTION 15 -2753 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT, EXTENDING THE TERM <br />OF THE CASSELBERRY COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY BY TWO YEARS, TO DECEMBER 11, 2017; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry, Florida adopted <br />Ordinance 95 -851, creating a Community Redevelopment Agency (the "CRA ") to carry <br />out and effectuate the purposes of community redevelopment within the boundaries of the <br />Casselberry Redevelopment District; and <br />WHEREAS, the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, by <br />Resolution 95 -R -255, delegated to the City the right and authorization to exercise powers <br />as described and provided in Chapter 163, Part I11, Florida Statutes, such powers to <br />include the power to create and establish a Community Redevelopment Agency; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Resolution 95 -935, approved the CRA's <br />Redevelopment Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2002, the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, by <br />Resolution 2002 -33, extended the term of the Casselberry CRA from 15 to 20 years (to <br />2015); and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 163.362(10), Florida Statutes, at the time the <br />Casselberry CRA was created, a CRA could be approved for an initial term of up to 30 <br />years, or in the case of the Casselberry CRA, to the year 2025; and <br />WHEREAS, the CRA wishes to continue working toward the stimulation of <br />economic development and redevelopment projects in Casselberry's Community <br />Redevelopment District for an additional two years; and <br />WHEREAS, the CRA commissioned an update to the CRA's Redevelopment <br />Plan prioritizing projects through 2017 as well as 2025; and <br />WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Agency adopted Resolution 14 -01 <br />to request an extension of the Community Redevelopment Agency's term; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission approved Resolution 15 -2718 on April 27, <br />2015 requesting the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners to provide a two <br />year extension of the Casselberry Community Redevelopment Agency until December <br />11, 2017; and <br />
