CITY COMMISSION
March 1, 1993
Page 3
2) Edward Kirkland, attorney for Jerry Uranick, owner of Cabaret's; was
opposed to achromatic color schemes. He asked the Commission to consider the
amendment he submitted to Mr. McIntosh which would exempt existing
establishments from the color restrictions proposed in Ordinance 755. Mr.
Kirkland also submitted several pictures of colorful businesses in the area (other
than adult entertainment establishments) to the City Clerk, and stated he did not
think any particular type of business should be singled out for building color
control.
3) James V. McAveney, 595 Queens Mirror Circle, spoke in favor of Ordinance
755. He attempted to address residential property separation, but the Mayor
informed Mr. McAveney that issue should be brought up during Audience
Participation since it was not related to adult entertainment.
4) John Casselberry, 1140 Lancelot Way, was opposed to the limitation of
achromatic color schemes and suggested that any color restrictions imposed should
apply to all commercial establishments.
5) Herb Crabtree, 620 Lancelot Way, supported Mr. Casselberry's suggestion
that color restrictions should apply to all commercial establishments, and not just
adult entertainment establishments.
The following five (5) paragraphs prepared by Mayor Hillebrandt, were approved by the
City Commission on August 16, 1993 for inclusion in these minutes:
Commissioner McMullen suggested that the ordinance be changed to cause the Board of
Adjustment to review any changes in building color to determine if it would be acceptable.
Commissioner Sheppard concurred, stating that the Board would determine if the characteristics
of the location were compatible with the surrounding neighborhood through the use of selected
color chips. Mayor Hillebrandt stated that he is opposed to what seemed to be ambiguous
99ADUR .
:-
WAIRLS
..
umm M.
Q-A-Aftq-I-J' A=;'.A
,
The following five (5) paragraphs prepared by Mayor Hillebrandt, were approved by the
City Commission on August 16, 1993 for inclusion in these minutes:
Commissioner McMullen suggested that the ordinance be changed to cause the Board of
Adjustment to review any changes in building color to determine if it would be acceptable.
Commissioner Sheppard concurred, stating that the Board would determine if the characteristics
of the location were compatible with the surrounding neighborhood through the use of selected
color chips.
