ORDINANCE 14.1404 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA; <br />AMENDING THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br />PART III, ARTICLE XVI, "SIGNS ", DEFINITIONS TO INCLUDE <br />"ATTENTION GETTING DEVICES," "FLAGS," "FEATHER FLAGS" AND <br />"POLITICAL SIGNS;" REORGANIZE AND AMEND THE TEMPORARY <br />SIGN REGULATIONS PROVIDING FOR GENERAL CRITERIA SUCH AS <br />SIZE, NUMBER, AND PLACEMENT; ADDING ATTENTION GETTING <br />DEVICES TO PROHIBITED SIGNS; PROVIDING NEW CRITERIA FOR <br />PLACEMENT OF GRAND OPENING SIGNAGE; PROVIDING FOR <br />CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Article XVI, Chapter 3, Part III, Unified Land Development Regulations, of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida provides for the regulation of the signs located within the <br />corporate limits of the City of Casselberry; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XVI, Chapter 3, Part III was adopted by the City Commission of the City of <br />Casselberry to create a legal framework for a comprehensive and balanced system of signage, to enhance <br />the aesthetic environment of the City and to avoid visual clutter that is potentially harmful to traffic, and the <br />appearance of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the City seeks to reorganize portions of the on- premises temporary sign criteria; and <br />WHEREAS, new definitions are required to describe various temporary signs; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to clarify that banner signs are temporary; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to distinguish between the two common types of portable signs; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to distinguish between types of portable signs, and clarify size and <br />placement criteria for temporary signs; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined tvoe shall constitute additions to the original text and &ke <br />fig# shall constitute deletions to the original text. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the City Commission of the City of Casselberry, <br />Florida: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 3 -16.2, Definitions, Part III Unified Land Development Regulations, <br />Chapter III Performance Criteria, Article XVI Signs, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, <br />Florida shall be amended as follows: <br />
