Habitat will begin plans and specifications to construct a <br />three (3) bedroom, two (2) bathroom home on the property that conforms to City codes and regulations. The <br />project will be included as part of Habitat for Humanity's Builders Blitz 2014. The plan is to construct the <br />home over a seven (7) day period which provides added marketing and promotional opportunities for Habitat <br />and the City. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget at this time. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended approval of <br />Resolution 13 -2552. <br />D. Resolution 13 -2553 — Conveyance of City -Owned Surplus Parcel ID #10- 21 -30- <br />502- 0000 -0580 on Park Drive to Habitat for Humanity <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, CONVEYING CITY -OWNED <br />PARCEL ID #10- 21 -30- 501 -0000 -0580 ON PARK DRIVE TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF <br />SEMINOLE COUNTY AND GREATER APOPKA BY EXECUTION OF A WARRANTY DEED; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Introduction: Resolution 13 -2553 approves conveyance of Parcel ID #10 -21 -30 -501- 0000 -0580 on Park <br />Drive by Warranty Deed to Habitat for Humanity of Seminole County and Greater Apopka and authorizes the <br />Mayor to execute said instrument on behalf of the City. <br />Background: At the February 25, 2013 meeting, the City Commission approved a grant application for the <br />amount of $183,050 to partner with Habitat for Humanity to construct new single family homes in the northern <br />section of Casselberry. Through the grant, Seminole County, through the Federal Housing and Urban <br />Development Division, would fund the project, the City would donate the property, and Habitat for Humanity <br />would be the developer. <br />On October 28, 2013, the City Commission approved Resolution 13 -2540, accepting the grant award and <br />approving the execution of a tri -party agreement between the City, Seminole County, and Habitat for <br />Humanity. The City Commission approved placing the property on the surplus list on November 12, 2013 via <br />Resolution 13 -2546. <br />Discussion: The transfer of the property is the next step in the execution of the project and can be <br />accomplished through execution of a warranty deed.
