CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of October 28, 2013 — Special Meeting Page 2 of 4 Introductions were made around the table and Mayor Glancy advised that Commissioner Aramendia was stuck in school traffic and would be arriving soon. Mayor Glancy gave a brief explanation of how the meeting would be conducted, stating there would be an introduction by City Manager Randy Newlon and that Commissioner Colleen Hufford would act as moderator for the purpose of proceeding through the agenda. She added that there would also be closing remarks and an opportunity for citizen comments at the end of the agenda. 4. INTRODUCTION TO CASSELBERRY - CITY MANAGER RANDY NEWLON City Manager Randy Newlon welcomed Representatives Brodeur and Clelland and gave a brief overview of the City, including its history, demographics, current and future projects, and services provided to its residents. Commissioner Aramendia arrived in the Chambers at 3:06p. m. 5. GUEST REMARKS (COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS, PERSONAL INITIATIVES, OTHER EMERGING ISSUES) Representative Jason Brodeur Commissioner Hufford introduced Representative Jason Brodeur who gave a brief history of his service in the Florida House of Representatives, including his committee assignments, both past and current. He then gave an overview of his personal initiatives and other issues on which he has been focusing. These topics included: 1. Access to healthcare, including telemedicine; 2. Regulation of assisted living centers; 3. Gaming regulations. Representative Mike Clelland Commissioner Hufford introduced Representative Mike Clelland, who gave a brief history of his service in the Florida House of Representatives, including his committee assignments, both past and current. He then gave an overview of his personal initiatives and other issues on which he has been focusing. These topics included: Education funding; Elections and ethics; Sexual predator reform bill.
