ARTICLE 33 <br />WAGES <br />33.t Effective on October 1, 2012, all bargaining unit employees employed as of that date and <br />not at the top of their pay grade shall receive a 3.0% base wage increase. If the adjustments <br />would cause an employee's salary to exceed the salary range, the amount in excess of the salary <br />range will be paid to the employee in four equal lump sum payments in the first pay period <br />following October 1, January 1, April 1, and July 1. <br />33.2 The pay range for the classification of Police Officer and Detective shall be $36,999 - <br />$51,746. The pay range for the classification of Police Sergeant shall be $51,746 — $67,807 <br />33.3 Wage increases for Fiscal year 2013 -2014 and any subsequent fiscal year, if any, will be <br />established through the collective bargaining process. <br />33.4 Effective on October 1, 2012, bargaining unit members employed in the Sergeant <br />classification and not at the top of their paygrade shall be provided a 5% base wage increase, and <br />then a $1,000 annualized salary adjustment. <br />33.5 Only non - initial probationary employees that have completed probation and received an <br />annual performance evaluation thereafter are eligible for a performance based wage increase. <br />33.6 If a merit increase received is not satisfactory to the employee, he may request in writing, <br />a review by the City Manager within ten (10) working days from notification of the employee of <br />the merit increase awarded. The decision of the City Manager shall be final with no further <br />appeal. <br />33.7 Bargaining unit employees assigned to the night shift (i.e., employees who are regularly <br />assigned to start their shift at or after 1400 hours) shall receive a 2% increase to their base hourly <br />rate for all regular hours worked on the night shift. <br />33.8 Bargaining unit employees who are assigned to, and perform the duties of K -9 officer, <br />shall be relieved from duty one -hour per scheduled shift for as long as they are assigned the <br />duties of K -9 officer. It is further agreed and understood by any employee so assigned, that this <br />is total payment for any and all off -duty time for dog handling and /or care. <br />33.9 Current Police Officers designated as, receiving compensation for, and who continue to <br />meet the qualifications for, Officer First Class as established by the Department shall receive <br />additional compensation in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) per month during 2012, 2013, <br />2014, 2015 (calendar years) paid on a payroll basis for as long as they retain such qualifications. <br />No other Officers will receive additional compensation for Officer First Class designation. <br />33.10 The City shall continue the assignment of Corporal. Bargaining unit employees who are <br />assigned to perform the duties of Corporal shall receive a 5% salary adjustment. The salary <br />Page 45 <br />
