Budget Amendment #13 -053 — Purchase of Artwork for Cites Introduction: Budget Amendment #13 -053 provides for consideration to purchase artwork created by artist Kurt Merkel titled "Cool Night for a Swim ". The artwork is currently hanging in the upstairs lobby area at City Hall and is priced at $1,550. Budget Impact: Funds will be decreased from the Recreation Contingency account #001 - 0411.572.58 -00 and increased in the Machinery Equipment/Equipment Other account #001 - 0411 - 572.67 -35. BA #13 -053 Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to provide funding to purchase artwork currently located in the upstairs lobby area of City Hall. The stainless steel artwork created by Kurt Merkel titled, "Cool Night for a Swim" is available for purchase in the amount of $1,550. Rollover funding was allocated through BA 13 -029, which was approved by the Commission on January 28, 2013. Funding was derived from fund- raising efforts including the Swing "Fore" the At Golf Tournament and the Rock N'Run 5K Race. This budget amendment will reduce funding in Parks and Recreation /Art Purchases 001 -0411- 572.58-00 and allocate funding to Machinery & Equipment Other 001 -0411- 572.67 -35. F. Budget Amendment JI 3 -054 — Recognition of Revenue for Purchase of Smoke Detectors, Introduction: Budget Amendment #13 -054 provides for consideration to recognize revenue in the amount of $1,000 from the Wal -Mart Foundation Community Grants Program to the Casselberiy Fire Department for the purchase of smoke detectors. Budget Impact: The impact to the budget is an increase to the Fire Prevention Division's Promotional Activities account (001- 0320 - 524.48 -00) in the amount of $1,000 and an increase to the Donations - Private Sources account (001- 0000 - 366.91 -00) in the amount of $1,000. BA #13 -054 Explanation of Request: This item seeks to recognize revenue received as a result of a donation from Wal- Mart in the amount of $1,000 and to appropriate funds to purchase smoke detectors for City residents.
