CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of July 8, 2013 — Regular Meeting
Page 15 of 15
the Supervisor of Elections or the State Elections Office.
Vice Mayor Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3:
• Congratulated Commissioner Hufford and Ms. Reischmann on their awards.
• Shared that she had attended Senator David Simmons' July 3rd event in Altamonte Springs and she felt
the contacts and relationships made at these types of events were very helpful. She added that she had
brought a friend with her who was director of a group against child trafficking and that coincidentally
Senator Simmons was working on a bill relating to that issue.
Mr. Newlon confirmed that the Commission had reached a consensus that they desired to have a workshop to
address concerns about the development of the City Center. He stated it would be called a roundtable to
address concerns and he would try to schedule it in the very near future so that Mr. Larry Adams would have
the Commission's input to work with when proposing options.
Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5:
• Advised she had also attended Senator Simmons' event and it was a very good time with a lot of
networking opportunities.
• Reported that at the Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) meeting, the members were introduced to
Ms. Elena Rivera, the new Community Government Relations Coordinator for the Expressway
Authority. She added that Ms. Rivera had introduced herself personally after the meeting and advised
that she was a resident of Casselberiy. She further added that Ms. Rivera had paid high compliments
for all the work the City is doing and that she and her fiance were hoping to purchase a home in the
City.
• Congratulated Commissioner Hufford and Ms. Reischmann for being recognized for their hard work
and accomplishments.
• Agreed that Friends of the Park and Hands on Orlando should be recognized for all the projects they
have done to improve the City. Suggested that a presentation could be made at a Commission meeting
outlining all the things they have done for the City.
There being no further business, Mayor Glancy adjourned the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
DATE MINUTES APPROVED BY CITY COMMISSION:
AT'ST:
Z'
Donna G. Gardner, CMC
City Clerk
