CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of July 22, 2013 — Regular Meeting
Page 14 of 14
• Thanked Chief McNeil for taking her through the Winwood area and giving her some insights she
could use when considering the area for possible future annexation.
• Expressed appreciation to the Camelot residents who had voiced their concerns about the code
enforcement process, adding that she understood their frustration. She added that the City would
continue to work toward improvements in the system.
Vice Mayor Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3:
® Advised she has been very interested in code enforcement during her time as a Commissioner and on
many occasions she has passed along complaints brought to her by residents. She stated she was
available to residents and would do what she could to help get these issues resolved.
Mr. Newlon advised that he and Community Development Director Sandra Smith, would be available after the
meeting to answer some of the questions and concerns brought up in the meeting regarding the code
enforcement process.
Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5:
Expressed appreciation for the residents who had voiced concerns about the code enforcement process.
She noted that this was an issue that was frequently discussed at the Commission meetings and was
both a top frustration and a top priority. She added that there had been some changes to the process
but there were legal requirements for the process that sometimes made the process lengthy and added
to the frustration. She added that she hoped that all the planned improvements for the community
would encourage people to take better of their properties and the City would encourage that in every
way they could. Vice Mayor Solomon added that in the past the City had three code enforcement
officers but now only had one and the City was in the process of trying to hire more.
There being no further business, Mayor Glancy adjourned the meeting at 5:25 p.m.
DATE MINUTES APPROVED BY CITY COMMISSION: ,.
ATTEST:
Donna G. Gardner, CMC
City Cierk
