CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 10, 2013 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 2 of 16 <br />17 .,. =X I <br />Commissioner Aramendia gave the invocation, <br />Commissioner Aramendia led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />The City Clerk called the roll of Elected Officials, All were present. <br />Mayor Glancy recognized Seminole County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Bob Dallari and <br />Executive Director of MetroPlan, Mr. Harry Barley, who were present at the meeting. <br />5< MINUT'ES <br />A. Minutes of April 12, 2013 — Strategic Planning Workshop <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the minutes of the April 12, 2013 <br />Strategic Planning Workshop, as presented. Motion was seconded by Vice <br />Mayor Solomon. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5 — 0. <br />A. 2013 Clean Air Award <br />Mayor Glancy introduced Mary Ann Horne, Community Outreach Specialist for MetroPlan Orlando. <br />Ms. Horne presented the City of Casselberry with the 2013 Central Florida Clean Air Team Award. <br />She stated that this award was presented annually to an organization that has done outstanding work <br />to improve the region's air quality. She explained that the City of Casselberry was receiving the <br />award because of its commitment to a compressed work week which was instituted in 2011. She <br />added that although the program had initially been instituted for purposes of budget savings, it had <br />also had a very positive impact on the environment. She shared some statistics researched and <br />compiled by Dr. Kelly. Brock which showed that the estimated annual savings as a result of the <br />program were 161,000 vehicle miles, 6,300 hours of travel time, 9,800 gallons of fuel and 98.6 tons <br />of carbon dioxide. She added that the City of Casselberry was the first city in Seminole County to <br />win the award. She thanked the Commission and City staff for their commitment to the program and <br />
