WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to provide residents until February 1, 2012 to <br />erect a screen for recreational equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission hereby finds that minimizing the visual impact of various <br />vehicles is necessary to preserve the residential character, integrity, and unique aesthetic qualities <br />of neighborhoods within the City of Casselberry; and <br />WHEREAS, neighborhood aesthetics are an integral part of maintaining property values <br />and are relevant zoning considerations. See Wood, 305 So. 2d. 261; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry held a duly noticed public <br />hearing on the proposed changes set forth herein and hereby finds this Ordinance to be in the best <br />interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Casselberry and to be <br />consistent with the City of Casselberry's Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original text <br />and strike threugh shall constitute deletions to the original text. <br />SECTION 1. The Code of Ordinances for the City of Casselberry Part III, Unified Land <br />Development Regulations, Chapter III, Performance Criteria, Article X, Appearance, Design and <br />Compatibility, Section 3 -10.9, Parking in residential districts, is hereby amended as follows: <br />D. General Requirements applied to pmhihited yeh'Gle permitted vehicles and recreational equipment <br />(Sketch A). <br />1. Business related and recreational equipment parking is limited to one vehicle in a side yard. <br />2. Screening requirements. <br />a. Screening is defined as visual shielding or obscuring of a vehicle or equipment by a solid <br />opaque fence or wall or healthy landscape material. <br />1) Business related vehicles. The height of the screen material should be GUffiGieRt t <br />ebssure the e�y up te shall be eight (8) feet in height. <br />2) Recreational eguipmen . The height of the screen material shall be between six and <br />eight feet in height, regardless of the height of the equipment, Enforcement of this <br />screening requirement shall become effective February 1, 2012, <br />b.
