ORDINANCE 11 -1363 WHEREAS, pursuant to §100.3605, Fla. Stat., a referendum is not required when changing qualifying dates for members of the governing body; and WHEREAS, as a result of the State Legislature modifying the time when the State primary election will be held from 10 weeks to 12 weeks prior to the general election, the City qualifying dates and date on which petitions are to be received by the City must be changed to earlier dates; and WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original text and strike through shall constitute deletions to the original text. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Section 7.06, Procedure for placing names on ballot; alternative method of qualifying, of Article VII, Elections, of the Charter of the City of Casselberry, Florida, is hereby amended as follows: Section 7.06. - Procedure for placing names on ballot; alternative method of qualifying. Any elector may become a candidate for Mayor /Commissioner or Commissioner by filing with the City Clerk an application to have his /her name printed on the ballot as a candidate for a seat specifically named from 12:00 p.m. Monday through 12:00 p.m. Friday, during regular business hours, for the five -day period during the third full week injie May.. Each person seeking election to the City Commission shall pay, at the time of qualifying for office, a qualifying fee to the City Clerk. The amount of the qualifying fee is one percent of the annual salary of the office. Additionally, candidates shall comply with F.S. § 99.093, as amended. Ordinance No. 11 -1368 Page 1
