WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Florida signed House Bill 45 on June 2, 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, House Bill 45 preempts the field of regulation of firearms and ammunition to the <br />exclusion of any city or county ordinances, regulations, or rules; and <br />WHEREAS, House Bill 45 becomes law on October 1, 2011, and municipalities are required to be <br />in compliance with the law by that date; and <br />WHEREAS, the Casselberry City Commission conducted an advertised public hearing on <br />September 12, 2011 and considered all public input; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original text and <br />strikeo shall constitute deletions to the original text. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT ENACTED by the City Commission of the City of Casselberry, <br />Florida: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 30 -7, Declaration of state of emergency, Chapter 30, Emergency <br />Management, Article I, In General, Part II, Code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br />(c) Emergency resolutions authorized by this Chapter shall include but are not limited to the <br />following subjects: <br />(1) Evacuation. <br />(2) Curfews, and declaration of areas off limits. <br />(3) Suspension or regulation of sale of alcoholic beverages, firearms, explosives or <br />combustibles. <br />SECTION 2. That Section 30 -11, Police emergencies, Chapter 30, Emergency Management, <br />Article I, In General, Part II, Code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />
