Mr. Aramendia recommended approval of CU 11 -11 <br />Arthur Murray Dance Studio 2 COP conditional use based on the staff report dated August 10, 2011 from Mr. Raasch <br />to the Planning and Zoning Commission as presented. Mr. Van Meter seconded the motion. The motion passed <br />unanimously by voice vote. <br />Sixth Item of Business: LPA 11 -17: ULDR Amendments to Part III Section 3.16.4. Amendment to "On <br />Premises Temporary Sign Regulations" to provide temporary signage options to businesses affected by <br />construction projects along State Road 436, US Highway 17 -92 and Seminola Boulevard. <br />Mr. Jason Sorensen, Planning Technician, reviewed the information provided in his memorandum dated <br />August 10, 2011, to the City of Casselberry Planning and Zoning Commission (a copy is on file in the Community <br />Development Department). Mr. Sorensen reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (a copy is attached and made a part <br />of the minutes). <br />Mr. Sorensen said Staff requests the Planning and Zoning Commission provide a favorable <br />recommendation to the City Commission for LPA 11 -17 to amend the City of Casselberry Code of Ordinances, Part <br />III, Unified Land Development Regulations, Chapter III, Article XVI, Signs, as provided in the draft ordinance attached <br />to the staff report. <br />Mr. Parkhurst asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak in favor of, or in opposition <br />to, the request. Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. <br />Casselberry said he didn't know anything about this agenda item and wasn't sure if the City should restrict it to the <br />three roads referenced in the staff report. Mr. Casselberry explained that road construction projects usually have a <br />lane shift during construction. Mr. Casselberry felt that the signs should be placed high because during construction <br />there are large vehicles parked along the road. <br />After a brief discussion, Mr. Parkhurst asked for a motion to address LPA 11 -17. Mr. Aramendia made a <br />motion to provide a favorable recommendation to the City Commission for LPA 11 -17 based on the staff memo dated <br />August 10, 2011 from Mr. Sorensen to the Local Planning Agency as presented. Mr. Bakalla seconded the motion, <br />The motion passed unanimously by voice vote. <br />Seventh Item of Business: LPA 11 -18: ULDR Amendments to Chapter 1 Article IV Building Code. <br />Amendment to eliminate reference to the Standard Housing Code, 1994 edition. <br />
