Mr. Lutz seconded the motion. <br />The Board was polled. <br />Edmund Bakalla <br />No <br />Andrew Meadows <br />Yes <br />Nathan Van Meter <br />No <br />Victor Lutz <br />Yes <br />Harley Parkhurst <br />Yes <br />The motion passed with a majority vote. <br />Seventh Item of Business: Other Business. <br />Ms. Sandra Smith, Development Services Manager, explained that Mr. Raasch has resigned from the City <br />to take a position with Orange County Government Long Range Planning Department. <br />Ms. Smith said at the last City Commission meeting the Commission approved the first reading to <br />consolidate the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment. A general discussion ensued <br />regarding the board consolidation and the responsibilities of the Board of Adjustment. Ms. Smith stated that a <br />variance is scheduled for the February 8, 2012 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Ms. Smith stated that <br />appeals to the Administrative Official's Determination are usually of a commercial nature and the Community <br />Development Director has been requesting that the appeals be given to the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />because of their broad knowledge of the City requirements. <br />In response to the Commission's question, Ms. Smith stated that the City Commission normally makes the <br />board appointments at the second meeting in January. <br />A general discussion ensued regarding the status of Wal -Mart at Highway 17 -92 and State Road 436, the <br />proposed veterinary clinic on State Road 436 and staffs review of existing docks for compliance with the Code. <br />Ms. Smith thanked the termed out Board members for serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission. In <br />response to the Commission's question, Ms. Smith stated that revisions are needed to the City Code to address the <br />various City Boards and at that time the City Commission may address term limitations. <br />
