CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of September 24, 2012— Regular Meeting <br />Page 4 of 21 <br />Mr, Stan Van Gundy, a representative of the political action committee Citizens for Preservation of Property <br />Values, made a presentation supporting the proposed one mill ad valorem tax increase for the Seminole County <br />School District. <br />7. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Glancy announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Glancy announced the rules of <br />decorum. <br />1. Mr. Walter Osborne, Scrub Oak Trail, Oviedo, spoke in opposition to the proposed one <br />mill increase. <br />2. Mr. Tom Swartz, 806 Dogwood Drive, spoke in support of the proposed additional <br />millage. <br />3. Mr. Andy Searles, 1340 Queen Elaine Drive, spoke in support of the proposed additional <br />millage. <br />4. Mr. James Fraleigh, 23 Teresa Court, voiced concerns about the fiords being spent on <br />development within the City. <br />5. Ms. Cindy Youell, 351 Prima Vera Cove, Altamonte Springs, voiced concerns about the <br />state of the educational system in the United States and how tax dollars were being spent. <br />6. Dr. William Brockett, 104 Roann Drive, Oviedo, also expressed concerns about the <br />administration of the school system and the percentage of property taxes allotted to the <br />schools. <br />7. Ms. Karime Lomeli, 565 Ridgeline Run, Longwood, expressed concerns about the <br />educational system in the United States and spoke in favor of the proposed additional <br />millage. <br />8. Mr. Tom Kozak, 203 Jonesbmy Court, Longwood, spoke in support of the proposed <br />additional millage. <br />9. Mr. Richard Henderson, 127 Mark David Boulevard, expressed appreciation for the City's <br />employees and the good job they do. <br />10. Ms. Melinda Akard, Oviedo, expressed concerns about the many unanswered questions <br />regarding what would happen if the millage passed and what would happen if it did not. <br />11. Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, expressed concerns about ad valorem <br />tax revenues and public safety issues. <br />Commissioner Aramendia left the Chambers at 8: d2 p. m. <br />12. Mr. Glen Denman, 101 Madden Avenue, Sanford, spoke in opposition to the proposed <br />additional millage. <br />13.
