Staff continues to move forward with design, permitting and easement acquisitions for the <br />Wirz Park Trail. An easement agreement with Metro Life Church and Design plans for <br />Wirz Trail Section 1 were completed in December. <br />The Water Quality Improvement Project is still on- going. To date, the contractor has <br />replaced a total of 6.52 miles (or 34,442 ft.) of water distribution pipe. Five (5) out of 3 <br />project areas have been completed thus far. <br />Staff held a workshop with the Code Enforcement Board on November 4th. Debra Babb - <br />Nutcher, code enforcement board attorney discussed the steps taken by staff to <br />streamline the enforcement process, the tweaks that the City Attorney is taking to update <br />procedures and motions used by the Board, and the duties and conduct required of the <br />Board members. There was an opportunity for the Board members to ask questions. Ex- <br />parte communications and Sunshine Law requirements were discussed. <br />Police staff has conducted research into the possibility of utilizing State Asset Law <br />Enforcement forfeiture funds as a means of establishing a "community block grant" for the <br />purposes of funding projects which may assist in the reduction or prevention of crime and <br />improve neighborhood safety. Based upon preliminary research it appears as though the <br />funds may be utilized for such. <br />ACTION ITEM #2e Provide information to the community regarding neighborhood <br />improvement(s). <br />4t" Quarter Progress <br />Staff held a public information meeting with local residents on the installation of "Area 2 <br />trees ". <br />Public information on special events, rate adjustments, etc. continues to be distributed via <br />utility bills <br />Staff continues to investigate various cost effective options for improving and enhancing <br />the provision of public information and the City website. This is in response to the <br />cessation of the Seminole Neighbors /Casselberry Connection newsletter by the <br />publisher. <br />3rd Quarter Progress <br />A public meeting was held at Fire Station 21 to address any questions or concerns which <br />owners and /or residents may have regarding the annexation on Seminola Boulevard. <br />Implementation of the new regulations for recreational equipment and commercial <br />vehicles continued with the distribution of informational door hangers. New applications <br />for fences have increased for screening business - related vehicles. Enforcement for <br />noncompliant business related vehicles will begin August 1St while enforcement for <br />screening of recreational equipment becomes effective February 1St, 2012. <br />Options and proposals were reviewed to resume publication of the City newsletter, <br />Casselberry Connection. <br />Reworking of the web site information regarding economic development in the City was <br />completed. Working with TSM Media, final revisions to the piece are being completed for <br />placement on the web site. <br />8 A public information meeting with local residents was held on the installation of "Area 1 <br />trees ". <br />Community education was made to the Casselberry Chamber of Commerce as staff gave <br />a short presentation on the City's Brownfield Assessment Grant Program. <br />
