Businesses
were invited from all ten incubators in the
UCF system and staff promoted the fact
that Casselberry is an excellent location for
their business as they transition out of the
incubator.
Walmart representatives advised they plan
to start construction of the new store on
U.S. 17 -92 in February 2012. From the meeting, an available funding source sufficient to fund construction
of the facility was identified. This finding potentially eliminates one of two significant
hurdles to bringing the facility to Casselberry, providing the City can organize its plan and
request quickly. The second hurdle is a location. Staff continues to monitor Walmart
plans and has begun to develop alternative scenarios for the Sports Facility as part of its
U.S. 17- 92 /S.R. 436 Revisioning Plan.
