CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of November 14, 2011— Regular Meeting <br />Page 22 of 23 <br />® No report. <br />Commissioner Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: <br />No report. <br />Vice Mayor Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4: <br />• Congratulated Alan Ambler for being back on board with the City. <br />• Thanked Commissioner Solomon for assisting her with contact information for reporting a code <br />enforcement situation. She expressed some frustration with the difficulty she had getting through to <br />someone to report a violation, and was concerned other residents may experience the same issues. <br />Commissioner Jon Miller — Seat No. 2: <br />• Thanked Commissioner Doerner for her service, stating that she had been very encouraging to him <br />when he first became involved in serving the City. <br />• Welcomed newly selected Commissioner Aramendia. <br />• Encouraged citizens to get involved with the City. <br />• Stated he was looking forward to the Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Santa Run. <br />Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5: <br />Reported that the owner of the Jai Alai property, RD Management, had hired CPH Engineers to <br />research the possibility of building a sports complex on the 55 acres which they own. She advised she <br />had informed CPH that the City would most likely be supportive of such a project, but would not be in <br />support of any type of gambling facility. A brief discussion ensued amongst the Commissioners about <br />the benefits of a sports complex to the area. <br />Reported that the Student Police Academy graduation ceremony would be December 8 "' in the Police <br />Department's multi - purpose room. She shared two emails from Pam Metzger at Casselberry <br />Elementary commending Chief McNeil and his staff on the program and expressing how well staff <br />worked with the students, and also giving some insight into some of the students who participated in <br />the program. <br />
