CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of November 14, 2011— Regular Meeting Page 22 of 23 ® No report. Commissioner Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: No report. Vice Mayor Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4: • Congratulated Alan Ambler for being back on board with the City. • Thanked Commissioner Solomon for assisting her with contact information for reporting a code enforcement situation. She expressed some frustration with the difficulty she had getting through to someone to report a violation, and was concerned other residents may experience the same issues. Commissioner Jon Miller — Seat No. 2: • Thanked Commissioner Doerner for her service, stating that she had been very encouraging to him when he first became involved in serving the City. • Welcomed newly selected Commissioner Aramendia. • Encouraged citizens to get involved with the City. • Stated he was looking forward to the Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Santa Run. Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5: Reported that the owner of the Jai Alai property, RD Management, had hired CPH Engineers to research the possibility of building a sports complex on the 55 acres which they own. She advised she had informed CPH that the City would most likely be supportive of such a project, but would not be in support of any type of gambling facility. A brief discussion ensued amongst the Commissioners about the benefits of a sports complex to the area. Reported that the Student Police Academy graduation ceremony would be December 8 "' in the Police Department's multi - purpose room. She shared two emails from Pam Metzger at Casselberry Elementary commending Chief McNeil and his staff on the program and expressing how well staff worked with the students, and also giving some insight into some of the students who participated in the program.
