Council of Local Governments in Seminole County(CALNO) - Vice Mayor Colleen <br />Hufford <br />Reported they had met at the Seminole State College Economic Development area and there was discussion <br />about all the changes and growth happening at the college. Stated that she had spoken with all the CALNO <br />representatives about the situation with the Wekiva funding and how it may affect the flyover project. <br />Vice Mayor Miller commented that he had sent a letter to Congressman Mica regarding the proposed cuts to <br />transportation funding, and urged the Commissioners to talk with Congressman Mica about it ifthe opportunity <br />arose. <br />F. Seminole County Redevelopment Planning Agency Report - Commissioner Sandra <br />Solomon <br />Reported that the last meeting had been specifically to vote on the issue of a senior housing project which is <br />proposed in Fern Park on the site of an old mobile home park near O'Brien Road. She stated there were <br />approximately 240 units being proposed with some commercial spaces in fiont. She added that the members <br />had voted to approve the project. <br />Acknowledged Corporal James Hennessey of the Police Department for being the recipient of the <br />Rotary Club International's Karcher Award for his work in various programs. <br />Reminded the Commission about the holiday party on December 16`1' and advised they would be <br />receiving notices about the event. <br />Reported she had completed a round of meetings with all the employees last week and the sessions had <br />been very well received. <br />® Reported on a Florida Supreme Court decision which was favorable for government involving the St. <br />Johns River Water Management District. She stated the ruling allows governments to enter into <br />negotiations without the worry that someone would be awarded money even if the negotiations do not <br />result in a permit being issued. <br />
