Capital Purchase of a Valve Exerciser for the City's Water Distribution System and Related Budget Amendment #12 -054 Introduction: Consideration of the capital purchase of a valve exerciser for the City's water distribution system from FEI- Sanford Waterworks in an amount of $6,760 and related Budget Amendment #12 -054 is requested. Budget Impact: In accordance with the City's Purchasing Policy, Public Works staff has obtained three (3) written quotations for the purchase of this equipment. Of the quotes received, FEI - Sanford Waterworks provided the lowest quote for an amount of $6,760. Budget Amendment # 12 -054 is necessary to re- allocate funding from the Public Works Distribution and Collection Repair and Maintenance account #401 -0751- 536.46-02 to the Machinery & Heavy Equipment Account #401- 0751 - 536.67 -39 to cover these costs. BA #12 -054 Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to provide funding for costs associated with the capital purchase of a valve exerciser necessary during implementation of the Uni- Directional Flushing ongoing maintenance program as part of the City's Water Distribution System. This budget amendment will provide sufficient funding from the Water and Sewer Fund for the Distribution and Collection division to carry out a direct purchase in the amount of $6,760 with Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. - Sanford Waterworks (Quote #13210711).
