A. distribution of the Lakes Guide at the Casselberry Senior Center,
B. attending a joint meeting with the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board on
a quarterly basis,
C. using the City's website to upload lakefront workshop presentations,
D, conduct a "state of the lakes" address annually to the City Commission,
and
E. City staff should decipher board-appropriate information and disseminate
accordingly.
Dr. Brock ensured the Board that City staff will be dedicated to distributing to the
LMAB any/all information directly related to projects affecting the City's lakes.
Workshop presentations have been uploaded to the City's website:
www.casselberry.org/lakes. Going forward, the, "Project Updates" section of the
agenda will be a permanent placeholder to discuss upcoming projects, projects
underway, and future projects.
e. Project Updates: Dr. Brock provided and discussed an extensive project list of all
projects to date. Board members were encouraged to utilize this topic to
introduce projects that Dr. Brock may have failed to mention. Projects that were
discussed include: Lake Concord Park, Lake Howell Baffle Boxes, Lake
Kathryn/Seminola Conceptual Park Plan (including proposed Mast Arm
Upgrades), Queens Mirror Projects, Boating Improvement Grant (Parks &
l Recreation), Grassy Lake Revegetation, Stormwater public education information,
concept of seasonal Blueway on Quintuplet Chain of Lakes, Lake Jesup BMAP
adoption, street sweeper purchase and graphic wrap, storm drain marking, and
the City's recent award published in the American City & County ®magazine.
Updates of each project are as follows:
• Lake Concord Park-project is nearing completion; a discussion of the
educational signage element of this project is mentioned in a separate
section of these minutes. See Section 4C.
a Lake Howell ea(fle eox- still under design; the City is considering the
addition of a "media" filter to each baffle box and also considering the
substitution of catch basin inserts instead of one of the baffle boxes, as
the drainage area for this particular location is insufficient to warrant a
baffle box.
® Lake Kathryn/Seminola Conceptua( Pfan- the City, in partnership with
Seminole County, is proposing a traffic enhancement for the
Seminola/Button Road intersection that should better accommodate
traffic (a conceptual plan was shown); there is no current funding in place
to begin construction of the actual Park; a meeting between the LMAB
and the Parks & Rec Board on this topic will be necessary, as for now, no
new updates.
i
e Queens Mirror Alum Treatment/Flocculation and Aeration- project
2
