Board of Adjustment <br />December 1, 2011 <br />Page 4 <br />Commission has extensive experience dealing with commercial issues. Ms. Smith said there have also been a reduction <br />in the number of variance requests for the Board of Adjustment and a reduction in the site plan reviews by the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission due to the economy. She said a presentation was made to the City Commission to consider <br />merging the two boards. Ms. Smith explained that there are several board members that are termed out on both boards <br />and there have been a limited number of applications from residents interested in serving on the various City boards. Ms. <br />Smith said that this item would go before the Planning and Zoning Commission in December and the City Commission for <br />first reading at the January 9, 2012 meeting. She said that this item would be considered legislation in progress and the <br />City Commission could make board appointments attheir second meeting in January.
