frontage of the property which is being developed or offered for sale until such <br />time as the subdivision is completed. <br />(III) In residential districts, no sign over four (4) <br />square feet shall be erected closer than one hundred (100) feet from the nearest <br />existing house. <br />(IV) In Commercial, Agricultural, and Industrial <br />Districts, real estate or combination real estate and subdivision signs shall not <br />exceed one hundred (100) square feet. <br />(V) One (1) real estate sign or combination real estate <br />and subdivision sign may be erected on each roadway frontage for each tract or <br />parcel of land offered for sale or lease. <br />(VI) The maximum height of the sign structure shall not <br />exceed ten (10) feet above the elevation of the crown of the road. Allowable sign <br />height shall be determined based upon the elevation of the roadway crown adjacent <br />to the sign structure location. <br />(c) Construction Signs <br />(I) One (1) sign denoting the owner, architect, <br />engineer, financial institution, or contractor may be erected on a lot or parcel <br />of land under construction. The total copy area shall not exceed sixty-four (64) <br />square feet. The sign must be removed prior to the issuance of the certificate <br />of occupancy. Sites with multiple road frontages may be permitted one sign on <br />each road frontage. <br />(II ) Such signs must be set back in accordance with the <br />building setback requirements of the district. <br />(d) Banners, Pennants, Balloons, Streamers and Similar <br />Displays. Banners, Pennants, Balloons, Streamers and Similar Displays shall be <br />allowed, one time only for a new business, from two ( 2 ) weeks prior to the <br />opening/grand opening until one (1) month after the opening/grand opening. <br />(e) Motor Vehicle Sign. A motor vehicle sign as hereinbefore <br />defined shall not be parked and left unattended forward of the front building <br />line when utilized as a means of promotion or advertising. Any motor vehicle sign <br />shall be considered to be left unattended if such vehicle remains stationary (or <br />parked) for a continuous period of time in excess of 18 hours. <br />(f) Inflatable Advertisement: Inflatable advertising signs <br />shall be allowed only one time per year for any business location or shopping <br />center. The permit shall be valid for no more than seven (7) days and said sign <br />shall not exceed a height of thirty ( 30 ) feet nor exceed a maximum of three <br />hundred (300) square feet of copy area. <br />(B) Off-Premise <br />(1) Permanent Prohibited. <br />(2) Temporary The following temporary off-premises signs may be <br />placed in exception to the outdoor advertising sign requirements: <br />(a) Political Campaign Signs. An unlimited number of <br />political campaign signs may be placed on private property providing each <br />candidate: <br />(I) May place said signs after the candidate's <br />qualification for an election and must be removed within seven (7) days after the <br />7 <br />
