Planning & Zoning Commission)
Local Planning Agency
December 8, 2010
Page 8
Mr, Parkhurst asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak in favor of, or in opposition
to, the request. Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr.
Casselberry questioned how dead trees are handled in residential districts. Mr. Casselberry suggested that it should
be based on a typical good tree coverage and he felt 30% was a good number to use. He felt too many trees may
hinder the visibility for helicopters.
A brief discussion ensued regarding the tree requirements for residential districts. Mr. Parkhurst asked for a
motion to address LPA 10-13. Mr. Aramendia made a motion to amend the City of Casselberry Code of Ordinances
based on the staff report dated December 3, 2010 from Mr. Raasch to the Planning and Zoning Commission as
presented. Mr. Van Meter seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
Ninth Item of Business: Other Business
After a brief discussion it was decided that the Planning and Zoning Commission would only meet the
second Wednesday of the month and if necessary a second meeting would be scheduled for the fourth Wednesday
of the month. Ms. Smith requested Ms. Dixon email the Commissioners the 2011 meeting schedule.
In response to the Commission's question, Ms. Smith provided an update on the pending parking ordinance,
Ms. Smith stated this item is scheduled for the December 13, 2010 City Commission meeting,
There being no further business to come before the Board, motion was made, seconded, and passed to
adjourn.
~~
Joni Dixon, Secretary
