Wirz Trail Section I Update: <br />Wirz Trail Section I plans were shown to the Board. This section is fully funded by the FDOT. <br />Mr. Cruz explained the path of this section in detail. <br />Ms. HeiTOn asked if there were estimated dates for construction. Mr. Cruz said he's just waiting <br />on the easement with Progress Energy and is in the process of getting the documents ready for <br />bidding. He hopes to begin the construction phase of this project by March or April of this year. <br />Once started, construction should take 6-9 months. <br />Ms. He>,TOn asked if this section of the trail would have a stopping point. Mr. Cruz said there <br />would be a kiosk in Wirz Park area before the loop around the wetlands. <br />Ms. Eckhart asked about the length of Section I. Mr. Cruz explained that Section I would be 3 <br />miles long. Section II is 1 mile; Section III will be 1 mile as well. <br />Manager's Report: <br />Mr. Cruz reported on plans with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee <br />for an extension of the boardwallc near Home Depot and a continuation of the <br />walking path which would loop all the way around Lake Concord Park. <br />- A "Movie in the Park" will be held in Lake Concord Parlc on Friday, January 21st <br />The next jazz concert, featuring Arturo Sandoval, will take place on February 26ti' <br />in Lake Concord Park. <br />Anew shed has been purchased and installed at Wirz Park. It is 14 ft x 30 ft and <br />half will be available for use by the Casselberry Little League. <br />The ball field lights at Wirz Park will be replaced with four light poles and Musco <br />lights. <br />Board Member Comments <br />Ms. Eckhart said the Friends of the Park would be having an "Air Potato Raid" on Saturday, <br />January 22 from 10 a.m.-Noon at the Wirz Trailhead. <br />Ms. Herron announced that the Women's Club of Casselberry would be hosting a Fashion Show <br />on Saturday, March 25 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at St. Augustine Parish Center in Casselberry. This <br />event is a fundraiser and will include a catered lunch, silent auction and raffles. <br />Adiournment <br />Ms. HeiTOn made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Eckhart seconded the motion. The <br />motion ca>Tied unanimously 2-0 (Mr. Mason had to leave the meeting at 8 p.m. prior to <br />adjournment).
