Wirz Trail Section III Design Update: <br />Mr. Cruz was able to secure an additional change order for the designing/engineering firm <br />Glatting Jackson which is now AECOM Technical Services. The plans needed to be converted <br />to a different format. <br />Ms. Herron asked if Mr. Cruz would have to go to the Commission again for Section III. Mr. <br />Cruz said he may or may not have to go to the Commission again, depending on the approval of <br />the budget. <br />Mr. Spence asked how the talks with the golf course were going. Mr. Cruz said progress has <br />been slow, as the golf course is in the process of trying to change ownership. <br />Manager's Report: <br />- The Wirz Parlc shed will be on the September 27, 2010 Commission Agenda. <br />- The tree inventory has been completed. All City parks, medians, right of ways, as well as <br />some neighborhood areas were inventoried. <br />- The Urban Forestry Tech is applying for an "Outstanding Project Award" sponsored by <br />the FL Urban Forestry Council and the FL Dept. of Agriculture. <br />- Lake Concord Parlc has won a recognition award through Landscape Contractor <br />Magazine. Mr. Cruz will bring a copy to the next meeting. <br />- The Sk Roclc N' Run was very successful. There was a large turnout and a great deal of <br />citizen support. <br />- The next Jazz and Golf weekend will beheld October 23 & 24. <br />Board Member Comments <br />Mr. Spence made a motion to support the forestry award application and sign a letter on behalf of <br />the PRAB. Ms. Herron seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 3-0. <br />Mr. Mason is no longer part of the Casselberry Little League. His son has moved to the <br />Altamonte Babe Ruth for better opportunities. <br />Mr. Spence made a motion that the Board continue to support and make a commitment to the <br />further development of the Casselberry Little League in the future. Mr. Mason seconded the <br />motion. The motion carried unanimously 3-0. <br />Mr. Mason commented on the trails around Wirz Park. He said the Florida Power trucks often <br />drive in this area and the trails will need to be able to hold their weight. Mr. Cruz said the trails <br />will be reinforced. <br />Mr. Mason asked how many openings the PRAB currently has. Mr. Cruz said there is one <br />vacancy. <br />Adjournment <br />Butch Spence made a motion to adjourn the meeting. June Herron seconded the motion. The <br />motion carried unanimously )3-0.
