CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Casselberry Recreation Center <br />200 N. Triplet Lake Dr., Casselberry, FL 32707 <br />A regular meeting of the Parlcs & Recreation Advisory Board was held Tuesday, September, 14 <br />2010 at the Casselberry Recreation Center located at 200 N. Triplet Lalce Drive. Butch Spence <br />called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br />Board Members Present: <br />Butch Spence, June Herron, Michael Mason <br />Board Members Absent: <br />Phyllis Sheppard <br />Staff Present: <br />Luis Cruz (Parlcs and Facilities Manager), Alicia Kardell (Admin. Services Office Assistant) <br />Audience Present: <br />John Casselberry <br />Approval of Minutes: <br />Butch Spence made a motion to approve the June 8th minutes as written. June Herron seconded <br />the motion. The motion carried unanimously 2-0. Michael Mason arrived a few minutes after <br />the minutes were approved. <br />Audience Participation: <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, , 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, attended the Lakes <br />Management Board meeting where they talked about putting baffle boxes downstream of the <br />Carriage Hill development. Mr. Casselberry commented that these boxes are expensive and <br />maybe it could be done with fewer. <br />Mr. Casselberry voiced his concern about the distance between the creek and the bike trail west <br />of Winter Parlc Dr. Mr. Cruz replied that the trail has to be designed with specifications from <br />FDOT for safety. <br />Mr. Cruz added that the City's trails are 12 ft wide and are reinforced in areas near fire hydrants. <br />Wirz Trail Section I Design Update: <br />The trail plans, now at 95%, were shown to the Board. The plans will go to the Planning/Zoning <br />Board on October 13th <br />Ms. Herron asked who put the trail plans together. Mr. Cruz said this was done by Horizon <br />Engineering. <br />Mr. Cruz hopes to get the project out to bid sometime in October or November and begin <br />construction in January 2011. The funding for the design is reimbursable to the City ($250,000). <br />The survey fees were also reimbursed in the amount of $50,000. <br />
